The Cu Chi Tunnels are seventy five miles of interconnecting tunnels that were used by the Vietnamese military over the Vietnamese War (or American War as they simply call it). They served as hiding spots and as routes for conversation and materials. Several troopers even lived in these tunnels for durations although residing situations were bleak.
